Q. Who can participate in Ciclovia?
A. Anyone from 0 to 100 with a love for the outdoors. Ciclovia is meant for men and women of all ages.

Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. Sure! Waste bins will be available along the route for you to clean up after your animal

Q. How do I participate?
A. You can walk, run or ride. Bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, unicycles, pogo sticks, tricycles and any other non-motorized modes of transportation are welcome. Also, make sure to pack water and sunscreen.

Q. Is Ciclovia a race?
A. No, not only are participants encouraged to move along the route at their own pace, they also may start or begin wherever they wish, for as long as they wish.

Q. Is Ciclovia safe?
A. The City of El Paso has made great efforts to ensure the safety of participants. Forty-two police units will be on hand at the event, along with Fire and EMS. Additionally, Police and Fire Explorers will be stationed along the route for additional security.

Q. Is the route difficult?
A. Some areas of the route, such as Scenic Drive, have a steep incline and may be difficult for some participants. However, the Rim and Alabama ends are easy enough for children and the elderly. Also, rest areas are stationed at three parks along the route: Lower Tom Lea Park, Newman Park and McKelligon Canyon. Shade will be provided at these locations for anyone who wants to stop and take a break.

Q. What if I live on the route?
A. Great, then come on out and enjoy the fun! However, if you need to leave in your motor vehicle, the City of El Paso Planning Department has already identified where residents are along the route and busy traffic areas. Police officers will be placed at these locations to assist you on to the roadway.
